THE
DEVIL, DEMONS, AND SECRET AGENTS
LESSON SCRIPTURES: II COR 11:13-14, II TIM 3:1-9, TIT 1:10-11, II PET 2:1-22
We in the church must always be aware of the devil and his device. We should realize that the devil’s main emphasis is on the church. He wants to destroy the works of God, so he wants to trap up God’s people. Just like God has angels the devil has demons, and just like God has saints, the devil has his secret agents. We must see that the devil is in control of a kingdom ( a ungodly kingdom), and he has workers or servants in his kingdom. We must also realize he is looking to expand his kingdom by taking over God’s kingdom. The devil has something fake for everything that God has. God has saints, the devil has aints, God has preachers and prophets, and the devil has his false preachers and prophets. He will set these false preachers and prophets right up in God’s church if the people are not watchful.

He wants to destroy the works of God, so he wants to trap up God’s people. Just like God has angels the devil has demons, and just like God has saints, the devil has his secret agents. Now we should not think it is strange when the devil tries these things. We are in spiritual war, and where there is war there will always be spies, and traitors. This is the element of war, but we also have a spy on our side called the Holy Ghost. With the Holy Ghost we can go behind enemy lines, and discover his weakness. The weapons that we are equipped with are stronger than that of the enemy, for the bible declares in II Cor 10:4; “For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty through God to the pulling down of strong holds.” We as Christians must not forget our most powerful weapon against the devil the word of God. “For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any two edged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.” (Heb 4:12). It is important that we know the word of God, for we can tell when someone is off. If they don’t line up with the word, its a good chance they many be a secret agent for the devil. We are also instructed to try the spirits; “Beloved, believe not every spirit, but try the spirits whether they are of God: because many false prophets are gone out into the world.” ( I Jn 4:1).
Saint our salvation is precious and glorious, and the devil would like to steal it. But Jesus came that we might have life, and have it more abundantly. We should use all that God is offering us to fight against the devil. We shouldn’t let the devil trick and trap us up. God has declared that there is no weapon formed against us that shall prosper. Great is our God, he is able to deliver us out of everything the devil can throw at us. So let us awake and be on guard for the devil, his demons, and secret agents.
